Finally, a product that allows even the smallest
of children to enjoy using a
computer! Kidzmouse is exactly what it claims to be, a mouse specifically
created for children. This mouse is about half the size of a regular
computer mouse and allows children to squeeze rather then click their way
through their programs. It is compatible with both PC and Mac systems and
is PS/2 and USB compatible.
Young children find it hard to click a regular mouse, Kidzmouse is made so
that the child can squeeze anywhere on the top third of the mouse in order
to achieve the task at hand. Available
in four colorful styles, MollyMouse, BenjiBee, CoolBug, and MarinaBug ,
this mouse is totally awesome! I was amazed when I received the Kidzmouse
and watched it being used by a group of
kindergarten-aged children. They seemed to have a renewed interest
in the computer center in their classroom. The MarinaBug, the style I
received, installed easily onto the classroom computer and attracted the
interest of the children almost immediately. It is extremely easy for the
children to operate, because it is smaller, rounded, and allows the child
to have better control over the movements it makes. Dragging the cursor to a
specific area seems very hard for little children, but the MarinaBug made
it easy and fun for them.
These
cute computer creatures are brightly colored, ours is green and pink
stripes with cute eyes on the front, making it attractive and appealing
for the youngest of computer users. I found the price to be very
reasonable, under $25.00 and the technical support to be very prompt and
helpful. I did have some problems on my personal computer when I tried to
hook it up, and Susan Giles, the CEO and founder of Kidzmouse Inc.,
replied to my email within a few hours! As it turns out, the mistake was
on my part, and not on the part of the actual product. The only downfall
that I have come across about this truly amazing product, is that I cannot
get it out of the classroom where I had it tested! So, unfortunately for
me, my little MarinaBug has found a new home in the hearts, and hands of
some very excited kindergarten children, at our school. Hey, its not
all that bad, at least I know they are getting a head start in
their ability to use a computer easily, which in this day and age is a
necessity for any business or career they may pursue.
I
recommend this mouse for children as young as 18 months to 10 years old,
and it is also perfect for adults with small hands! I would also like to

Canada. Their enthusiasm in using this superb piece of technology was very
