Have you ever had to deal with a little one who is terrified of the “monster under the bed”, and no matter how many times you reassure them they are still quite frightened? Have you ever found yourself crawling under your child’s bed with a flashlight in one hand and possibly a fishing net or garbage bag in the other, in order to catch that monster? Well, as much as you don’t want to admit it, it has happened to the best of us!

This comical story is all about a little boy with a terrible problem, there is a monster under his bed! This tale is also about a little monster with a similar problem, he has a boy on top of his bed! Both little guys tell their mothers about their unwanted company, but to no avail, as their mothers do not believe them. When Howard hears noises coming from under his bed, he calls his mother. “There are no such things as monsters”, she tells him. When Monster tells his mommy about the boy he hears on top of his bed, his mommy tells him there are no such things as boys! Written by Jackie French Koller and illustrated by Betsy Lewin, this hilarious story takes a sudden turn as the boy and the monster meet. When they realize they are both frightened by each other, the duo decides to get back at their mothers. Although I could give away the end of this comical book, I suggest that you purchase your own copy. It is well worth it! Who knows, the next time your child calls you to come to his bedroom, you may find yourself in a comical situation!

My children, ages 6 and 8, thoroughly enjoyed this wonderful book. I recommend it for ages 2-9. Great for early readers, this story is sure to be of interest to children. My daycare children were so excited to see the outcome, that even the little ones attention was totally captivated! Awesome book, a must for bedtime!
