Bread, Bread, Bread

Eating bread is a very common practice all over the world. That’s what makes this multicultural book so special. All children can relate to its topic. The book is filled with pictures taken in Israel, United States, Peru, Ghana, England, Indonesia and many other countries. The pictures show people eating bread, making brad, carrying bread and selling bread. What makes this book even better is the index that recaps the theme in a two-page spread of all the pictures previously shown. Beside each picture, the caption tells the reader in which country it was taken and what is happening in the picture. This is an excellent book to read prior to a bread-making project or before a snack of pretzels! This is also a good prompter for an interesting discussion of cultures.
